

JUSTIN JIMMY, ICD
Justin Jimmy is an Indigenous professional from Treaty 6 territory, who continues to provide support and guidance to elected leadership, senior management, junior staff, professional colleagues, and anyone open to a conversation. Justin has a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge, is a candidate enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accountant “CPA” designation program and is also completing the ICD.D designation program with the Institute of Corporate Directors. Prior to Justin pursuing his education with the University of Lethbridge, Justin completed commercial flight training with the First Nations Technical Institutein Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.
Justin’s financial management expertise spans controllership, capacity building and technical accounting with First Nation governments and businesses, and with industry. He is passionate about Indigenous economic reconciliation serving as a trustee with Wicekaskosiw Sahkahikan Askiwi-Pimiy “WSAP” heritage trust fund. He also served as the past chair and current member of the Calgary Aboriginal Urban Affairs Committee “CAUAC” where he regularly engages city leadership to deliver robust and fully inclusive services for the Indigenous community of
Calgary.
In addition to being a director with the MSDC, Justin also holds director roles with
Aboriginal Finance Officers Association of Alberta, and Indigenous Gathering Place Society of Calgary, Lakeland College Alumni, and past chair with Calgary Aboriginal Urban Affairs Committee. Justin also supports the non-Indigenous sector through various roles including member with the Strategic Aviation Advisory Council with the Government of Alberta, Director & Treasurer with Lakeland College Alumni Association, and by continuing to engage on an advisory level with organizations such as CPABC, ICD Calgary/Haskayne Business School, and Forum Relation in steps towards reconcile ACTION.
